SECOND Wind

Embracing Life with Renewed Energy, Adventure & Inspiration

The Hot Season

Where have I been you ask? Oh my, I have been here, right here. Everyday is a new day here in Mazatlan. Now it’s getting hotter and it is quite humid here. I find myself doing my 5 mile walk at 5am before it gets too hot. Summer hasn’t even hit yet and I am sweating. I lived in Singapore and that country lies on the Equator, and Thailand which is extremely hot also. I absolutely know what hot is and humidity. The difference is that I am now 66. I have to say I can stand the heat better than I can stand the cold. I am where I would rather be. That’s the bottom line.

The longer I live here, the more I like it. Mazatlan has such a nice vibe. It’s going to get hot, hotter, hottest. I have air conditioning. I have an ocean across the street and an infinity pool. I think I shall stay cool no matter how hot it gets. There is a blue sky everyday. There are smiling faces, new friends, lots of great food. I really don’t have anything to complain about.

I’ve got a universe of thoughts swirling inside me, and sometimes I forget that this blog is my canvas, ready for any and every stroke of my pen. This is my second wind, a new chapter brimming with possibilities. Now, I get to chase those dreams I once shelved. There’s no deadline, no one to answer to—just pure, unbridled freedom. I’m crafting a life from the ground up, one that I’ll look back on with pride and satisfaction.

The rollercoaster ride of my early years was a wild mix of peaks and valleys, moments of joy and times of trial. Yet, looking back now, I wouldn’t swap any of those experiences. They’ve shaped who I am today, standing tall and sharing my story. No matter how scorching the heat gets, I remain unyielding and resilient.
