SECOND Wind

Since settling into a charming neighborhood in the beach town of Mazatlan, I’ve found myself yearning for something more. Don’t get me wrong, the neighborhood is lovely, with its beautiful homes and convenient proximity to stores, restaurants, and the picturesque Malecon for our morning walks. But it’s not quite my “nesting place,” as I like to call it. At my age, there’s a desire to snuggle in, to hunker down, to create a space that truly feels like home.

Every morning, as I stroll along the beach, I can’t help but question why I’m not living in a place with a view. After all, Mazatlan offers affordable options for beachfront living, a luxury that seemed out of reach in the cities I’ve previously called home. So, I’ve made a decision: it’s time to manifest my dream home.

I envision a condo with a view of the ocean, ideally situated near Centro Historico, where I spend much of my time enjoying the local cuisine, interviewing fascinating individuals for MazatlanLife, and volunteering with the Mazatlan Film & Theater community. And as fate would have it, during one of my interviews with a local shop owner, I stumbled upon an opportunity that felt like serendipity.

Word got out that the owner’s family had a luxury condo at Olas Atlas in Loma Linda, precisely where I wanted to be. Could this be the answer to my prayers? Despite the initial concern about the rental price, I decided to reach out and initiate a dialogue. I shared my background, my budget, and most importantly, my intentions to make this condo my forever home in Mazatlan.

To my delight, the shop owner’s son, who oversees the rental, responded positively. He offered us the chance to stay a night in the condo once the current tenant vacates in April, allowing us to experience the breathtaking views and envision ourselves living there. The excitement coursing through me is palpable. It’s as if the universe is aligning to make my dream a reality.

The condo boasts two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and expansive decks offering 360-degree views of the ocean—a perfect setting for savoring morning coffee and embracing the salty breeze. Its location promises a mere 13-minute walk to our favorite spots, making it an ideal sanctuary for our daily adventures.

As I reflect on this journey, I am reminded of the power of manifesting. By visualizing my ideal living situation, expressing my desires, and taking actionable steps towards them, I’ve unlocked a realm of possibilities. It’s a testament to the belief that what we focus on expands, and that our intentions shape our reality.

So here’s to manifesting dreams, to envisioning a life filled with joy and abundance, and to embracing the journey with unwavering determination. With every breath, every wish, and every step forward, I am one step closer to calling that ocean-view condo in Mazatlan my home. And if the stars align, I’ll be sipping coffee on my deck, watching the sunrise over the waves, sooner than I ever dared to imagine.
