Today was a revelation for me. As I stepped out for my morning walk along the Malecon, the sun was already beating down, promising another scorching day. Despite the heat, I was determined to stick to my routine. The Malecon, with its picturesque sidewalk overlooking the beach, has always been my go-to route. The views are breathtaking, but today, the sweltering heat made the prospect of walking back less than appealing.
In a moment of spontaneity, I decided to venture off the familiar path and explore a new route. It turned out to be the best decision I’ve made in a while. At the 2.5-mile mark, I slipped off my shoes and descended onto the soft sand of the beach below. It felt liberating to connect with nature in this way.
Walking back along the shore, I was greeted by the soothing sound of waves crashing against the shore and the sight of seabirds gliding gracefully overhead. The expansive ocean stretched out before me, offering a sense of serenity that I hadn’t experienced on the sidewalk above. With each step, I felt a renewed sense of energy and tranquility wash over me.
From now on, this will be my preferred route. There’s something magical about walking barefoot along the beach, surrounded by the beauty of nature. It’s not just a physical exercise anymore; it’s become a soul-nourishing experience that I look forward to every morning.
